The Top 50 Green Emotions project is a creative exploration of the complex emotions surrounding climate change.

As a snapshot of time between 2021-2022, the project delves into personal feelings and biases about climate change, and creates a space for difficult conversations that shed light on the contradictory and deeply held emotions surrounding it.

The project emphasized meaningful dialogue and exchange with a diverse group of participants from all across the political spectrum, climate-change deniers to climate-change activists, and the shades in-between.
As the installation evolves over time, like a living organism, it reflects the ongoing conversation around climate change, capturing the evolving perspectives of those who engage with it.
It's an insightful and timely look at collective thoughts and feelings about the future of the planet at a pivotal moment in history.

Through video recorded conversations, I asked each participant to share their thoughts about climate change, how it impacted their lives, and how they felt about it all.
With the help of a forensic psychologist, we analyzed the conversations for any emotions mentioned and expressed.
A list was compiled of the top 50 emotions mentioned in order of occurrence. These emotions were then displayed on an LED signboard, like one you would see in a novelty discount store.

The signboard is transformed into a distilled documentary of the deeply personal and often contradictory emotions surrounding climate change.
